Unlock Your Psychic Abilities in 4 Simple Steps

Everyone has the ability to use their psychic (non-physical) senses to perceive energy and connect with Spirit. In this post, I share four practical steps to help you unlock and consciously use your innate psychic abilities.

Step 1: Validate Your Psychic Senses in Everyday Life


The first step is to recognize all the ways you already use your psychic senses. Many people think psychic abilities need to be “activated,” but in truth, most of us are using them constantly without realizing it.


Think of your psychic senses as soul senses—extensions of your spirit within your body. Every human has them, and step one is simply noticing and validating them.


Some examples include:

  • Getting a song stuck in your head long after hearing it—this is a form of clairaudience.

  • Feeling intuitive hunches or gut instincts about situations or people, using your clairsentience.

  • “Just knowing” something without conscious reasoning or proof - using your claircognizance.


Validating these experiences helps you understand that your abilities are already present.


From there, you can consciously engage them in your spiritual practice rather than thinking they need to be “activated” as if they were dormant.


Step 2: Notice Your Senses During Meditation


Meditation allows you to observe and refine the ways your psychic senses are active.


When you do guided energy work or meditations (like the ones I share up on YouTube), ask yourself:

What senses am I engaging?

Seeing? Hearing? Feeling? Knowing?

How am I connecting to my body and to the Earth?

Do I sense a grounding cord? A color or shape? Can I feel it or know it intuitively?


Often, multiple senses work together. For instance, when you eat a delicious piece of cake, you’re not only tasting it—you’re also smelling and seeing it. All of these senses combine to create the full experience. Similarly, your psychic senses often work in combination, providing a rich awareness of energy.


Paying attention to your senses during meditation helps you understand how you perceive energy and become more intentional in using your abilities.


Step 3: Practice, Practice, Practice


There’s a common misconception that psychic development happens instantly, for instance when you do something like a “third eye activation.”


For most people, abilities sharpen with consistent practice, just like any other skill.


As a professional musician, I studied music for over 20 years. I learned that real mastery came not just from rigid practice, but from playing, experimenting, and performing with others. The same is true for psychic abilities.


Practice your senses regularly in spiritual and metaphysical contexts.


Strengthen clairvoyance, clairaudience, and other psychic senses through playful exercises.

Learning and retaining your abilities is most effective in a state of play and curiosity, rather than in fear of “getting it wrong.”

Step 4: Use Energy Work to Strengthen Your Psychic Abilities


Each psychic sense is connected to a chakra (energy center of the body).


By balancing, clearing, and strengthening your chakras, you naturally enhance your psychic abilities.


A great starting point is the Running Earth and Cosmic Energy meditation, which cleanses and balances your chakras. Even 5–10 minutes a day can sharpen your senses.



Other points to consider:

  • Past trauma or invalidation may suppress psychic abilities temporarily.

  • Energy carried from past lifetimes can affect the use of your senses.


Consistent meditation and energy work help restore clarity and connection.
